The Marin Bolinas Ridge 1 Hardtail Mountain Bike – 2026 is an entry-level trail bike that combines a lightweight aluminium frame, suspension fork, reliable Shimano gearing and mechanical disc brakes for simple, effective off-road riding. It uses a Series 1 6061 aluminium frame to keep weight low and handling stable. The SR Suntour suspension fork adds comfort and control on uneven ground. Shimano Tourney 2×7 gearing offers a wide range for climbs and flat terrain. Mechanical disc brakes provide steady stopping power in all conditions. Wheel size varies by frame size to support fit and control across riders.Key Features and Benefits:Series 1 6061 aluminium frame with low standover design: This frame uses lightweight aluminium tubing to reduce overall bike weight while maintaining strength. The low standover height improves clearance and control when stopping or handling the bike. This results in easier handling and more confidence for new riders on uneven trails.SR Suntour XCE suspension fork with 100mm travel and preload adjustment: The fork absorbs impacts from roots, rocks and rough terrain using 100mm of travel. Preload adjustment allows you to tune stiffness based on rider weight. This reduces fatigue and keeps the front wheel tracking the ground for better control.Shimano Tourney 2×7-speed drivetrain with wide gear range: The combination of a 36/22T crankset and 11-32T cassette provides a broad spread of gears. This supports steady pedalling on climbs and efficient riding on flat sections. The result is smoother cadence control across mixed terrain.Tektro MDM280 mechanical disc brakes with 160mm rotors: Mechanical disc brakes deliver consistent braking in wet and dry conditions. The 160mm rotors provide controlled stopping power without complex maintenance. This gives reliable braking performance with simple setup and servicing.Wheel size matched to frame size (27.5” or 29”): Smaller frame sizes use 27.5” wheels for easier handling and fit, while larger frames use 29” wheels for improved rollover and stability. This sizing approach ensures balanced handling and control for different rider heights.Double wall alloy rims with 2.25” MTB tyres: The double wall construction increases rim strength and durability under trail use. Wide 2.25” tyres provide grip and stability on loose and uneven surfaces. This improves traction and reduces the risk of punctures on rough ground. This bike supports riders who want a simple and dependable way to ride off-road with minimal setup or ongoing maintenance. The aluminium frame keeps weight manageable, while the suspension fork and wide tyres smooth out uneven surfaces. Shimano gearing gives a usable range without complexity, and mechanical disc brakes keep maintenance straightforward. The overall setup focuses on control, reliability and ease of use across mixed terrain. It offers a clear path into mountain biking with a balanced specification that works straight out of the box. The combination of durable components and stable handling makes it suitable for regular trail use without added complication.Size – Rider height rangeXS – 4’10” to 5’2″S – 5’2″ to 5’5″M (27.5/29) – 5’5″ to 5’9″L – 5’9″ to 6’XL – 6′ to 6’4″
