The Squish 20 Kids Bike is a lightweight, award-winning first geared bike designed to help children ride with confidence, control, and ease from day one. Its low weight, child-specific geometry, and simple Shimano gearing reduce effort and improve handling, while proven design quality and a long warranty provide lasting peace of mind. Built for riders aged 6 to 8, it offers a clear step up in skill without adding complexity or bulk.Key Features and Benefits:Triple-butted aluminium frame and lightweight components: The frame uses varying wall thickness to keep strength where needed and remove excess material elsewhere, reducing overall weight to just 7.79 kg. This lower weight makes the bike easier to start, steer, and stop, resulting in better control and less fatigue for young riders.Child-specific frame geometry and optimised crank sizing: Shorter cranks, narrower spacing, and stable geometry are matched to smaller bodies, allowing a natural pedalling position. This improves balance and efficiency, helping children maintain steady progress and confidence on different terrain.Shimano 7-speed drivetrain with Rapidfire trigger shifter: The wide gear range supports riding on flat ground and gentle climbs, while the trigger shifter delivers clear, light shifts. This helps children learn gear use quickly, leading to smoother riding and better speed control.Tektro brakes with adjustable, small-reach levers: Brake levers are shaped and positioned for smaller hands, requiring less force to operate. This increases stopping control and reliability, supporting safer riding in varied conditions.Custom Squish saddle and quick-release seatpost clamp: The saddle shape supports upright comfort, while the clamp allows fast height changes. This makes it easy to adapt the bike as a child grows, extending its usable life.Award-winning design backed by a 10-year frame and fork warranty: Recognition from industry and family awards confirms build quality and usability, while the long warranty reflects confidence in materials and construction. This ensures long-term reliability and reduced replacement concerns.Consistent handling and low effort are key factors when children move to a geared bike. The Squish 20 addresses this through its very low weight, stable fit, and simple controls that work together to reduce strain and errors. Gears, brakes, and contact points are tuned for smaller riders, allowing steady skill development without unnecessary complexity. The Squish 20 offers a practical way to support confident riding and long-term progression, combining low weight, proven components, and child-focused design in one well-balanced package. It is a dependable choice for parents seeking a capable first geared bike that remains easy to manage as skills improve.Sizing: The 20″ Squish bike is recommended for children aged 6+, with a minimum inside leg measurement of 53.5cm and a minimum height of 113cm (3’8″).
